District Administrator

Marty's history with the Fire District began in 1967 as a volunteer resident working out of Orchards. Marty returned to the Fire District in 1973 after serving for 3 years in the army and resumed his career as a paid firefighter, later becoming a captain in 1975. In 1976 he assumed the position of Administrative Captain and in 1978 promoted to Battalion Chief/Training Officer. In 1983 Marty became Assistant Chief of the Fire District and as a result of the 1994 Fire District - Vancouver Fire Department consolidation, a Deputy Chief for the Vancouver Fire Department. Marty held numerous top level positions within the Fire Department until his retirement in May of 2000.

In June of 2000, Marty accepted the position of Fire District Administrator and is currently responsible for the operations of the Fire District and Northwest Regional Training Center.

Fire Marshal

Dave began his career as a Fie District 5 volunteer in 1979. Accepting a position as a career firefighter in 1981, Dave worked as a Firefighter/EMT until 1985 when he promoted to the position of Fire Inspector. He has been involved in fire prevention efforts ever since. Over the past 20 years, Dave has honed his skills including public relations, planning, teaching, and public speaking. A professional instructor since 1988, Dave has been the lead fire prevention instructor for Portland Community College the past 16 years. At Clark County Fire District 5, he is responsible for providing high quality Safety & Prevention, inspection and information services to the community.

Administrative Analyst

Riza previously was employed by the City of Vancouver Finance Department before accepting a position with Fire District 5 in July of 1998. She works on the District's budget and accounting functions. Riza graduated from Assumption College in the Philippines, with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Major in Management.
